Norwegian holiday without snow!

Dear everyone,
it's been a long time since I wrote my last report but now I'm back again to fill in the missing links. At first we went to Norway with Janneke, my sister Nienke's former schoolmate. The first day after our arrival we went shopping and Janneke bought a pair of ski shoes. We went straight to Sandefjord, where they had made a 'loype' with artificial snow, so we could ski. Janneke learned it, too. It was fun. It looked strange though, a snowy piece of land and all aroung it the world was green!
The next day it rained, so we were happy we had taken that first opportunity to ski. Now all we could do was to go shopping. That turned out to be fun, too, showing Janneke our wellknown secondhand shop. That evening Martijn and Wilma visited us and Sarah Lauchenauer from Austria, too.
On Saturday the New Years Conference started with a powerful youthmeeting. Splendid!
On Sunday the conference went on. 'We need to get an education from God and learn to be humble. If we do everything for Jesus, then nobody can take away our luck'. That night, New Years Eve, there was a feast with a lot of music, choirs and Gods Word. At the end there were fireworks in the rain, so nobody stayed outside very long. But it was nice.
On January 1st the meeting was about the tribulations. That we get to know Jesus then, if we share His sufferings. Jesus was so faithful that he had enough time and didn't have to work on his salvation longer than 'planned' for his life. Battle for your faith!
That afternoon my sister and I went to wish brother and sister Fossness a good new year and thank br. Fossness for his song 'Frelsesverket'.
On Tuesday Martijn showed us his work area. We went to skate on the icering in Tonsberg and I read Jack Cavanaugh's book 'Dear enemy', in the car after 22 rounds. In the evening I could write down the youthmeeting for Wilma.
On Wednesday we walked the 'loype' at Vear and on Thursday we went to Skrim, one hour north of Brunstad. Normally we ski there but now it was all green and a little icey. We walked a long time although it was very slippery now and again but we had to turn back after a while because of the fog. The last part of the way I glid over the way as if I was standing on a snowboard.
In the evenings we watched some movies and shows Janneke and we had taken with us from home.
On Friday I 'burried' myself in the 'Cronicles of Shiloh' (Thoene) and in the evening we visited the deaf family: Tatjana and Ole-Theodor Sponberg with their kids Anna, Lena, Dima and David. It's always so nice to be there. We lit some 'star-pins' (kiddy's fireworks) in the garden, had a meal together and watched pictures.
Saturday was our last day. We said goodbye to the winterholidays and Martijn and Wilma, packed and visited Gantenbein (elderly couple with a daughter with down syndrome, my friend Ester) and drove to the first ferry.
Well, that was Norway so far and now I'll have to prepare for Germany.
See you all next time!
